Change to the Specifications of Our Comic Market 108 Work: Adoption of a Serial Number System

Summary
Some of the specifications of the work being prepared for Comic Market 108 have been changed. The work consists of two discs, a music CD and a comic CD, and the method of providing the content has been changed from the original plan. The newly adopted method unlocks content through CDs bearing a serial number. By entering the serial number printed on or included with the CD, the corresponding content prepared online becomes available.
Background
The original plan was to include as much of the produced content as possible on the CDs. However, since the work was to contain a range of data, including manga, images and other digital content, it became clear that the required data volume would exceed the capacity of a CD. Rather than cutting the work to fit the capacity limit, combining it with online content makes it possible to deliver more of the work. In this approach, the CD serves not as the place where all the data is stored, but as one medium for accessing the work.
A second reason is versatility for future activity. Rather than a special specification for this event only, the format was designed so that it can also be used at Comic Market 109 and later Comic Markets, as well as at other self-published booklet (dōjinshi) fairs and events. With the serial number system, content can be added and updated online regardless of the capacity of a CD. Looking ahead to future production and event participation, it was judged to be easy to use over the long term and able to support wider development.
Additional notes
Although the content is now provided online, this does not mean the CDs are no longer needed. The CDs that remain in the recipient's hands are themselves produced as part of the work. The music CD in particular can be enjoyed as a CD in the usual way. It can be played on a computer, a CD player, or a car audio system that supports CD playback.
With this change, the work has become one that combines CDs with online content. The change is not simply a response to a lack of capacity, but a change in specifications so that the activity of Hope Princess Santaria can continue longer and on a larger scale. At Comic Market 108, the work will be offered in this new format. The system is also planned to be used for the work at Comic Market 109 and later events, as well as other dōjinshi events. Production will continue so that readers can enjoy a world of the work that cannot be contained on CD alone.
Participation in this event was at the time a personal undertaking, and the works were not yet owned by IHS Bethlehem Church. There were no sales of the items offered that day.
